Educational Technology and Copyright law 2/29

After reading this article, I learned that someones work is capable of being protected by copyright, and if someone chooses to steal from this persons work, heavy consequences will be faced against the person who committed this action. I have also learned that any work is capable of being copyrighted, such as images online, songs, and pieces of literature like essays. I have come to realize that many of the teachers that I have had, had used other peoples work in the classroom and that's okay. Some work is allowed to be used for educational purposes at school, but the whole work must not be entirely used, only to be interpreted is fine for purposes such as lesson plans. Images are licensed like iStockPhoto and Flickr, these sources are not allowed for fair use. I have learned from this article that images are allowed in classroom projects to help teach technology media in a class. I know that if you are to use from someone else's information, be sure to give credit to that specific person for resource. I now know that it may be difficult at times to use information from another source without giving the respectful credibility.

Do Now 2/22

After reading this crucial letter created by the workers at Apple, I am absolutely fine with the fact that they must break through the security of a terrorist in order to find information that this phone might contain, in order to prevent another incident like the San Bernardino case. I understand that it violates the Constitution for Apple to see through ones personal items, but this is for the greater good. We would be saving countless amount of lives by preventing horrific acts of terror occurring on our own soil. I find it horrifying that someone would want to strike fear into the lives of many for their own cause, it's an act of evil, and Apple must do what they do best, and go break through this terrorist's phone for not just America, but for the people as well. If we want to live in a land of peace and prosperity, we must be able to protect the ones we love, and by doing so we must stop another act like this to happen in our nation again.

Multimedia posting 2/10/16

One class in particular that truly stands out would have to be US History. In this class, we learn about all events of history that had occurred when America had climbed the mountain of obstacles to the day how it is now. This class portrays how life went for many people throughout time, and informs what these people had done to get their name well known in our society currently. Without having US History, we would not be able to know a single thing about the past of our nation, and that would be absolutely disappointing if we chose to not know how the past was in America.

Image result for us historyThe one who teaches us about US History is Ms. Garvin. Ms Garvin has been in Wood-Ridge High school for awhile, teaching all her students about not just US History, but other histories such as World History, European History, and other subjects of countries history. The first thing I had expected when I entered the class was how will she manage a class full of savage sophomores, but very intellectual sophomores I might add. Our class is packed with diverse and phenomenal students that work extremely hard to get where they are in life, and that's exactly how Ms. Garvin is. A sweet and kind teacher, that only wants the best of her students, she treats her students as if it's her own children. I have learned about the corruption of our nation, governments being demolished, and revolutions occurring from US History.
Image result for us history     Ms. Garvin's grading policy is practically similar to the   other teachers in the school, 40% for quizzes, 40% for tests, and 10% for classwork and homework. I am glad that I will be able to attend a field trip with the other US History classes to the tenement museum in New York, sadly, this trip has been rescheduled due to the fact that the blizzard crushed our hopes of going. In her class, she uses Google Slides everyday to help both herself and the class on the lesson she is informing us for the day in class. Occasionally, we use the chromebooks for project or research assignments, most of the time we are working on completing WebQuests on the devices. Ms. Garvin has been by far one of my favorite teachers I have ever had in school.

Welcome to my Blog !

Welcome to the one and only, Steven Kaldas blog! I, Steven Kaldas, am a very unique character who enjoys many things but despises even more things. I'm am a huge Denver Broncos fan #UnitedInOrange. The Heat is where the heart is at, in Miami. My favorite meal fried chicken and waffles, with some cherry Kool-aid on the side. I enjoy spending my time by going out dark at night, playing basketball all night long. My favorite football player is Randy Moss of the Minnesota Vikings, and my favorite basketball player is Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat. I don't enjoy my fellow African Americans being treated like trash because of where they come from. Racism is the one thing that really ticks me off. I hope to attend the University of Syracuse for college and have a masters in sports medicine. I've dreamed for such a long time to go to Syracuse ever since I was 10 years old. My family consists of Jamal my dad, my mom, Sandra my sister, and Tina my other sister. My friends are the only thing that I cherish besides my family and basketball. This summer I plan to go to Aruba just like last year. I hope to get a job in Holy Name Hospital some time in the future because I want a job relating to sports medicine. That's all you need to know about me, Steven Kaldas, and I hope you enjoy the rest of my blog!
